Court Line used the name Ilvington Court for two ships:
· Ilvington Court (1) - a cargo ship completed in 1911 as Dalebank - the subject of this entry. · Ilvington Court (2) - a cargo ship launched in 1924
Ilvington Court (2) had a working life of 21 years, although she was laid up for some of this time. She was torpedoed and sunk during WW2. |

No information at all is available about her use prior to being purchased by United British and little more after than other than that Ilvington Court (2) was laid up on the Tyne for several years in the 1930s during the depression. |

Postscript
Dandolo survived the war and was, according to Ext. Ref. #20, "discarded" on 23rd March 1947.

Sinking
Ilvington Court (2) was torpedoed and sunk by Italian submarine Dandolo of the Marcello Class, in position 37.14 N, 21.52W with the loss of 8 crew members whilst on a passage from Pepel to Glasgow.
The names of those that lost their lives are not currently known but will be added to the Roll of Honour below when they are. |
