The Allen Collection Over 5,000 photos of merchant navy ships collected over a 60 year period by the Allens. This is one of the Benjidog Historical Research Resources websites.
Geoff Topp Postcard Collection This collection of postcards collected by Geoff Topp over many years was originally published on the merchantnavyofficers.com website and has been part of the Benjidog Historical Research Resources website family since 2015. The collection is mainly based on the Mersey, its docks and the ships that sailed from them, but also includes lifeboats, lighthouses and ports in Wales.
Lovely Old Ships Bob Le-Roi's website includes unusual and interesting photographs from the private archives of Gerald Ransley Clarke, with additional contributions from Margaret Faulkner and Dave Conveney.

Rhiw.com This site about Rhiw on the Lleyn peninsular in North Wales contains many photos of ships - particularly Blue Funnel Line and Blue Star Line. Lots about the area worth looking at as well.
SeaTheShips Forum for maritime enthusiasts which includes nearly 130,000 ship photos. You need to apply to join but there are no charges.
ShipPhotos Many ships photos you can access for personal use but nothing older than 1987. Photos may be purchased or permission obtained for use in publishing etc.
Simplon Postcards A reference archive of image galleries, showing postcards and photographs of ocean liners, cruise ships, ferries and excursion vessels that claims to have over 60,000 images.
State Library of Victoria This is a vast treasure trove including many photos. As a start, from the first page presented, enter "ship" in the search box. You can then use the filters to narrow down your search. Alternatively you can enter the name of a ship. Be prepared to spend a long time in here due to the range and scope of material.
The UW-La Crosse Historic Steamboat Photograph Collection Over 40,000 photographic images of steamboats on the inland waterways of the United States, primarily the Mississippi, Ohio and Missouri rivers and their tributaries.
