Filleigh to Fiscus

Fina

She was a 1,378 grt cargo ship launched in 1919 as War Darenth and that survived the war. After launching she was subsequently renamed Stanmore, Naukratousa, Virginia, Patria, Fina (1938 to 1950), Elisabeth Arlt, Andreas X and Andreas N.Hadjikyriakos. According to the CWGC website, the Date of Death of Mr Wells was 20 may 1946. Please see the entry for him on the Queries and Omissions page under 'Omissions'.

She was a 2,137 grt cargo ship that was damaged by bombing in December 1941 but repaired. She was later sunk on 5 May 1943 by torpedoes fired by Japanese submarine I-180 at position 30°35 S, 153° 29' E.

She was a 1,261 grt cargo ship that was hit by bombs and gunfire from an aircraft on 8 Nov 1940 at a position South-West of Swin Buoy in the Thames Estuary but survived. She was sunk by a mine on 8 December 1941 at a position 3 miles South of Dudgeon Buoy at position 53° 19' N, 01° 05' E.
