Latymer to Leopold II

She was a 5,372 grt motor cargo ship that was badly damaged on 19 July 1940 by torpedoes fired by German submarine U-564 at position 42° 38’ N, 25° 28’ W. She was taken in tow but foundered on 1 August 1942 at position 49° 40’ N, 18° 04’ W. A history of this ship can be found on the Benjidog website HERE.
