She was a 6,626 grt motor cargo ship that was sunk on 27 October 1942 by a torpedo fired by German submarine U-509 at position 29° 13’ N, 20° 53’ W. There were a lot of passengers on board when she was attacked and eventually 202 survivors were picked up by HMS Woodruff.
