Athenia The story of the Donaldson Brother passenger liner that was torpedoed on the day Britain and France declared war on Germany in 1939. Great use is made of contemporary newspaper accounts to tell the story as it evolved. Part of the Benjidog Historical Research Resources family of websites.
British Council Film Collection A collection of films showing different aspects of British life. Unfortunately the search facilities are not very good but it is worth poking around.
Coastal Forces Heritage Trust Site dedicated to the Coastal Forces - Motor Torpedo Boats (MTBs), Motor Gun Boats (MGBs) and Motor Launches (MLs) whose exploits in WW2 so stirred the public imagination
Convoy Web Without doubt the best online resource for information about convoys including the Arnold Hague convoy database.
CWGC The Commonwealth War Graves Commission site provides access to various resources including a database holding details of people killed in various wars with search facilities to help you find the whereabouts of their graves. This includes members of the Merchant Navy. I have used it extensively in the contruction of the Benjidog Tower Hill website.
Feldgrau.com This is a very interesting site which describes itself as focusing on primary and secondary research regarding the technical, organisational and operational detils of the German armed forces between 1918 and 1945. It includes a section entitled "Kriegsmarine - The Navy 1935-1945" with information about German naval vessels and Ground units and links to other related resources.

Imperial War Museums Information about the various musuems run by this organisation including sites in London, Manchester and Duxford. Go to the 'Collections' tab to search for specific items.
National Museum of the Pacific War Website of the museum located at Fredericksburg, Texas which is not far from Austin and includes information about Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz. Anyone in the area should visit this impressive museum.
Naval-History.NET Detailed information about the Royal Navy from 1815 to the present day including service histories of warships and Admiralty organisation.
NavWeaps US site dedicated to naval weapons, technology and reunions. Includes information about naval weapons of the world, history and technology and orders of battle with lists of participating ships for major 20th Century battles.
Roll of Honour UK Website dedicated to the men and women who fell fighting for their country. Includes a lot of information about memorials and links to related sites.
Titlemax Information about the cars, tanks and aeroplanes of WW2 plus lots of onward links to other websites with information of WW2 historical interest.
Tower Hill Website dedicated to Tower Hill and the memorials located there. Includes photos and details of the Merchant Navy memorials of WW1 and WW2 to those 'with no grave but the sea' and also that for the Falklands War. Part of the Benjidog Historical Research Resources family of websites.
uboat.net An excellent resource containing detailed information about U-boats, their crews and their victims. Covers WW1 and WW2and incorporates information about Allied ships attacked, casualties etc.
WW1 Document Archive A rich collection of documents, photos, remembrance and links with a special section on the maritime war.
WW2 Unit Histories and Officers Information about units and officers of armed forcess organisations from the US, UK, Canada, Netherlands, France, Germany, Poland and Russia.
