The Fleets
This page covers Hamburg Brasilianische Packetschiffahrt Gesellschaft / Hamburg Brazilian S.N. Co.
Formed in Hamburg in 1856 to run between Hamburg and Southampton, Lisbon, Pernambuco, Bahia and Rio de Janeiro. The service opened in December 1856 and operated two ships. A third ship was built in 1857 but never sailed for the company. It was not found to be financially viable and their ships were sold to Hamburg America Line in 1858.
