Aaro was a 2,602 GRT steam passenger/cargo ship completed in 1909 by Earle's Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. for T.Wilson, Sons & Co. Ltd. of Hull. She was sunk on 1 August 1916 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-20 approximately 25 nautical miles South-West of Stavanger. She was en route from Hull to Christiana. The survivors were taken prisoner.

She survived the war but was damaged on 17 November 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-40 approximately 10 miles West of Eddystone. She was en route from Calais to Manchester in ballast.

She was en route from Bathurst to Liverpool carrying passengers, mail and general cargo.
