Adansi was a 2,644 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1901 by A.McMillan & Son Ltd. for British & African Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. and managed by Elder Dempster & Co. Ltd. She was sunk on 6 May 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-21 at position 50° 40' N, 11° 05' W - approximately 80 nautical miles from Fastnet. She was en route from Sierra Leone to Liverpool with a cargo of foodstuff.

She was sunk on 15 June 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-69 at position 47° 24' N, 05° 00' W - approximately 35 nautical miles South-West of Penmarch. She was en route from Montreal to Cherbourg with a general cargo.

Adela was a 655 GRT compound-engined passenger/cargo ship completed in 1878 by H. Murray for Tedcastle, McCormick & Co. of Dublin. She was sunk on 27 December 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-100 approximately 12 nautical miles North-West of The Skerries. She was en route from Dublin to Liverpool with a general cargo.

Captain Tyrrell and seven other crewmen managed to get clear in the ships boats but three of them were washed overboard and four died of exhaustion. Only the captain survived.

She was sunk on 25 March 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-65 at position 52° 36' N, 05° 37' W - approximately 6 nautical miles South-East by East of the Aklow light vessel. She was en route from Cienfuegos to Liverpool via Queenstown with a cargo of sugar. She had survived an earlier attack by UC-65 on 11 March 1915.

Afric

Afric was a 11,948 GRT steam passenger/cargo (ref) ship completed in 1898 by Harland & Wolff for Ismay Imrie & Co. (White Star Line).

She was torpedoed by German submarine UC-66 on 12 February causing major damage and the death of the engineers and greasers who were on duty at the time. The rest of the crew escaped in boats and the submarine sank the ship by gunfire at position 49° 59' N, 04° 18' W. She had been en route from Liverpool to Devonport and Sydney with a general cargo.
