Baron Cawdor was a 4,312 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1905 by A.Rodger & Co. for Hogarth Shipping Co. Ltd. and managed by H.Hogarth & Sons. She was sunk on 9 June 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-96 at position 48° 56' N, 10° 09' W - approximately 150 nautical miles South-West by South of Fastnet. She was en route from Rangoon to London with a cargo of rice.

She was sunk on 28 October 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-63 at position 50° 36' N, 01° 43' W - approximately 5 miles South-East of Anvil Point. She was en route from Calais to Liverpool in ballast.

She was sunk on 22 April 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-91 at position 50° 27' N, 07° 06' W - approximately 43 nautical miles North by West of Bishop Rock. She was en route from Lisbon to Glasgow with a cargo of pyrites, resin, cork and oil.

She was sunk on 8 February 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-53 at position 49° 13' N, 05° 21' W - approximately 45 nautical miles South-South-West of The Lizard. She was en route from Newport to Blaye with a cargo of coal.

Batoum

Batoum was a 4,054 GRT tanker completed in 1893 by James Laing for Associated Oil Carriers Ltd. and managed by J.I.Jacobs & Co. She was damaged on 18 July 1915 by German submarine UB-17 approximately 2.5 South by East of Southwold Lighthouse. She was en route from Killingholme to Harwich and was beached and refloated after this incident which killed 6 seamen. She was sunk on 19 June 1917 by torpedo fired by U-61 approximately 6 miles South of Fastnet Rock. She was en route from New Orleans to Queenstown and a further seaman was killed on this occasion.
