Cairnstrath was a 2,128 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 188 by C.S.Swan & Hunter for W.R.Price & Co. as Felbridge. From 1917 she was owned by Capel & Co. She was sunk on 4 August 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-71 at position 47° 00' N, 02° 29' W - approximately 6 nautical miles South-South-West of Ile du Pilier. She was en route from Bilbao to the Tyne with a cargo of iron ore.

Caithness was a 3,503 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1898 by W.Doxford & Sons for A.M.Sutherland. She was sunk on date by torpedo fired by German submarine U-52 at position 45° 48' N, 11° 07' W - approximately 130 nautical miles North-West by West of Cape Ortegal. She was en route from the Tyne to an unknown destination.

Caldergrove was a 4,327 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1909 by Wm. Hamilton & Co. for Clutha Shipping Co. Ltd. and managed by J.Hardie & Co. She was sunk on 6 March 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-44 at position 51° 30' N, 14° 51' W - approximately 200 nautical miles West-North-West of Fastnet. She was en route from Havana to Queenstown with a cargo of sugar.

Caledonia (Glasgow) was a 9,223 GRT steam passenger ship completed in 1905 by D. & W. Henderson & Co. Ltd. for Anchor Line Ltd. and managed by Henderson Bros. Ltd. She was sunk on 4 December 1916 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-65 at position 35° 40' N, 17° 05' E - approximately 125 nautical miles East by South of Malta. She was en route from Salonica to Marseille carrying mail and passengers.

Caledonia (London) was a 7,558 GRT steam passenger ship completed in 1894 by Caird & Co. for Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Co. She was damaged on 14 December 1916 date by a mine laid by German submarine U-72 approximately 3 nautical miles East of the Planier Island Light (Marseilles). She was en route from Bombay to London.

California (Glasgow) was a 8,662 GRT passenger/cargo ship completed in 1907 by D. & W. Henderson & Co., Ltd for Anchor Line and managed by Henderson Bros. Ltd. She was sunk on 7 February 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-85 at position 51° 10' N, 09° 24' W - approximately 38 nautical miles West by South of Fastnet. She was en route from New York to Glasgow with passengers and general cargo.

California (Liverpool) was a 5,547 GRT stean passenger/cargo ship completed in 1902 by Caird & Co. for Pacific Steam Navigation Co. She was sunk on 17 October 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-22 at position 45° 00' N, 11° 26' W - approximately 145 nautical miles North-West by North of Cape Villano. She was en route from Liverpool to Callao with general cargo.

Californian was a 6,223 GRT steam passenger/cargo ship completed in 1902 by Caledon Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. for Frederick Leyland & Co. Ltd. She was sunk on 9 November 1915 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-35 at position 36° 26' N, 22° 40' E - approximately 61 nautical miles South-South-West of Cape Matapan. She was en route from Salonica to Marseille in ballast.

Calista was a 229 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1902 by Charles Connell & Co. Ltd. for Preston Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. and managed by Becker & Co. She left Preston bound for Dublin on 6 January 1919 with a cargo of coal and wood pulp and was last seen in Ballaghennie Bay on 10 January 1919.

Calliope (London) was a 2,883 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1900 by W.Pickersgill & Sons for Calliope Steamship Co. Ltd. and managed by Petersen & Co. She is believed to have been sunk on 12 July 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-155 approximately 150 nautical miles North of Madeira. She was en route from Sevilla to Newport, Monmouthshire with a cargo of ore. The CWGC database lists the Dates of Death as 9 July 1917 - presumably this was when the vessel was last sighted.
