Ella Sayer was a 2,549 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1898 by Tye Iron Shipbuilding Co. for Fisher Renwick & Co. She was sunk on 30 April 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-57 at position 50° 49' N, 00° 48' E - approximately 15 nautical miles East by North of the Royal Sovereign lighthouse. She was en route from Penarth to Dunkirk with a cargo of coal.

Ellen James was a 165 GRT wooden three-masted schooner completed in 1904 by D.Williams of Portmadoc for J.Jones of Caernarvon. She was stopped by German submarine UC-71 on 3 April 1917 and sunk by gunfire West of Ushant whilst en route from Huelva to Pewnyn with a cargo of pyrites.

She was sunk on 9 July 1915 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-20 approximately 48 nautical miles South-West of The Smalls, St, George's Channel. She was en route from Valencia to Manchester with a cargo of fruit.

Eloby was a 4,820 GRT steam cargo ship (ref) completed in 1913 by Irvine’s SB. & DD. Co. Ltd. for British & African Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. She was sunk on 19 July 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-38 at position 35° 11' N, 15° 38' E - approximately 75 nautical miles South-East by East of Malta. She was apparently being used as a troopship and a significant number of troops lost their lives as well. I have not been able to find consistent figures for this - one source mentions 100 French troops as lost.

She was posted missing on after sailing on 11 December 1917 from Cardiff to Granville with a cargo of coal. It is believed that she was sunk by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-50 East of Start Point.

Emma was a 2,520 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1898 by T. Turnbull & Son for Turnbull Bros. Shipping Co. Ltd. She was sunk on 20 April 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-50 at position 49° 55' N, 14° 40' W - approximately 200 nautical miles South-West by South of Fastnet. She was en route from Baltimore and fayal to the Clyde with a cargo of maize.
