Hannah Croasdell was a 151 GRT wooden three-masted schooner - a sailing vessel - completed in 1866 by Wilson of Ulverston for A.E.Reney. She sank on 26 February 1917 after striking a mine laid by German submarine UC-65 approximately 1 nautical mile South of Skokholm Island.

Hans Jost

Hans Jost was a 954 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1889 by Flensburger Schiffsbau Ges, for J.Jost. She had been requisitione by The Admiralty and managed by Everett & Newbigin. She sank after the end of the war on 5 May 1919 after striking a mine - possibly off Newcastle. I have not been able to discover further details but it appears that most of the crew were lost.

She was sunk on 9 June 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-70 at position 47° 47' N, 09° 16' W - approximately 170 nautical miles West by North of Ushant. She was en route from Buenos Aires to Brest with a cargo of oats and maize.

Harlseywood

Harlseywood was a 2,701 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1907 by Ropner & Son Ltd. for Constantine & Pickering Steamship Co. From 1918 she was owned by Joseph Constantine & Sons. She was damaged on 17 July 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-60 at position 50° 46' N, 04° 38' W - South-West of Hartland Point. She was beached but refloated and repaired. When attacked she was en route from Penarth to St.Nazaire with a cargo of coal.
