She was sunk on 22 February 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-21 at position 54° 38' N, 00° 54' W - approximately 11 nautical miles South-East of Hartlepool. She was en route from Newcastle to Shoreham with a cargo of coal.

Justicia
Justicia was a 32,234 GRT steam-turbined driven passenger ship completed in 1917 by Harland & Wolff Ltd. for Oceanic Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. She was subject to two attacks by submarines:
- 19 July 1918: She was damaged by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-64 approximately 20 nautical miles West by North of Skerrygore. She was taken under tow. There were no fatalities on this occasion. She was en route from Liverpool to New York in ballast.
- 20 July 1918: She was sunk while under tow by torpedo firee by UB-124 at position 55° 38' N, 07° 39' W - approximately 11 nautical miles North-North-West of Inistrahull. On this occasion 10 seamen lost their lives.
According to Charles Hocking [35]:
The liner Justicia was built by Harland & Wolff for the HOlland-Amerika Line as the Statendam, but the British Government took her over before completion for war service. On Friday July 19th 1918 when off the N.W. coast of Ireland, bound from Liverpoool to New York in convoy, she was attacked by German submarines. At 2:30 PM the first torpedo struck her in the engine room and at 4:30 two more torpedoes were fired, one of which missed and the other was diverted by gunfire. At 8 PM the Justicia was taken in tow and shortly afterwards a fourth torpedo was discharged but gunfire again proved successful in diverting the aim. The next morning at 4:30 a fifth torpedo was discharged but missed. Finally at 9:15 AM on July 20th two torpedoes struck her on the port side in way of Nos. 3 and 5 holds. These proved fatal and the Justicia sank stern first at 12:40 PM. At the time of the attack she was carrying from 600 to 700 crew but no passengers. The third engineer and 15 of the engine room staff were killed, the survivors were taken off by the escorting ships. H.M. destroyer Marne succeeded in sinking one of the submarines.

Jutland
Jutland was a 2,824 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1898 by J. L. Thompson & Sons Ltd. for G.Hallett as Green Jacket. From 1915 she was owned by Anglo-Bretagne Shipping Co. Ltd. and renamed Jutland. She was sunk on 19 November 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-79 at position 48° 46' N, 04° 55' W - approximately 18 nautical miles North-East by North of Ushant. She was en route from Bilbao bia Brest to Middlesbrough with a cargo of iron ore.
