Newminster Abbey was a 3,114 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1917 by Tyne Iron Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. for Fisher, Renwick & Co. She was sunk on 7 February 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-48 approximately 44 nautical miles East by North of Cape Creus. She was en route from Genoa to Huelva with a cargo of coal.

Newstead was a 2,836 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1894 by Palmer's Shipbuilding & Iron Co. Ltd. for J.J.& C.M.Forster. At the time of her loss she was owned by Alban Steamship Co. Ltd. and managed by Frisken, Miller & Co. She was sunk on 3 March 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-49 at position 52° 02' N, 13° 24' W - approximately 150 nautical miles West-North-West of Fastnet. She was en route from Barry to Naples with a cargo of coal.

Nigel was a 1,392 GRT steam passenger/cargo ship completed in 1903 by Grangemouth & Greenock Dockyard Co. for Geo. Gibson & Co. She sank on 12 November 1915 after striking a mine laid by German submarine UC-6 off Boulogne. She was en route from Newhaven to Boulogne with a cargo of government stores.

Nora was a 3,926 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1908 by R. Stephenson & Co. Ltd. for Universal Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. and managed by W. T. Symonds, P. Samuel & Co. Ltd. She was sunk on 3 June 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-105 at position 33° 38' N, 17° 42' E - approximately 205 nautical miles South-East of Malta. She was en route from Alexandria to Bizerta in ballast.

Norfolk Coast was a 782 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1910 by W. Harkess & Son Ltd. for F.H.Powell & Co. From 1917 she was owned by Coast Line Ltd. She was sunk on 18 June 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-30 at position 53° 40' N, 00° 28' E - approximately 23 nautical miles South-East of Flamborough Head. She was en route from Rouen to the Tyne in ballast.

Norhilda was a 1,175 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1910 by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd. for Donald Steamship Co. Ltd. From 1917 she was owned J. Cory & Sons, Ltd. She was sunk on 21 August 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-17 at position 54° 15' N, 00° 10' W - approximately 5 nautical miles South-East of Scarborough. She was en route from Harwich to the Tyne in ballast.

Normandiet was a 1,843 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1902 by Hellerups Skibsvft. & Maskinbyg of Hellerup for D/S Urania of Copenhagen as Kronprincesse Louise. From 1917 she had been renamed Normandiet and was in the hands of the UK Government and managed by Lambert Bros. Ltd. She was sunk on 21 April 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-91 approximately 34 nautical miles South-West by West of the Calf of Man. She was en route from Bilbao to Glasgow with a cargo of iron ore.

Normandy was a 618 GRT passenger/cargo ship (ref) completed in 1910 by Earle’s Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. Ltd. for London, Brighton & South Coast Railway Co. From 1912 she was owned by London & South Western Railway Co. She was sunk on 25 January 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-90 at position 49° 46' N, 01° 44' W - approximately 8 nautical miles East by North of Cape de la Hague. She was en route from Southampton to Cherbourg with a cargo of general cargo and mail.

North Sea was a 1,711 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1899 by Craig, Taylor & Co. for Sanders Wake & Co. At the time of her loss she was owned by J. Cormack & Co. She was sunk on 31 October 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-65 approximately 2.5 miles nautical miles South-West of Prawle Point. She was en route from West Hartlepool to Pauillac with a cargo of coal.

North Wales was a 4,072 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1909 by J. L. Thompson & Sons Ltd. for North Wales Shipping Co. Ltd. and managed by H. Roberts & Son. She was sunk on 26 October 1916 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-69 South-West of the Scillies. She was en route from Hull to Canada in ballast.
