Polanna was a 2,335 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1893 by Blohm & Voss of Hamburg for Hamburg-Sudamerikanische DG as Antonina. From 1916 she was in the hands of the British Government, managed by Clyde Shipping Co. Ltd and renamed Polanna. She was sunk on 6 August 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-40 approximately 3 nautical miles East of Whitby. She was en route from the Tyne to Dunkirk with a cargo of coal.

Polbrae was a 1,217 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1896 by Act. Ges. “Neptun” of Rostock for H.C.Horn as Marie Horn. From 1917 she was in the hands of the British Government, renamed Polbrae and managed by W. H. Seager & Co. Ltd. She was sunk on 4 May 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-60 approximately 4.5 nautical miles off Bude. She was en route from Cardiff to St. Malo with a cargo of patent fuel.

Poldown was a 1,010 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1904 by Fevigs Jernskibsbyg. of Fevig for A/S Hauk as Hauk. From 1917 she was in the hands of the British Government and managed by L. Lougher & Co. She sank on 9 October 1917 after striking a mine laid by German submarine UC-51 at position 50° 31' N, 05° 05' W - approximately 2 nautical miles West-South-West of Trevose Head. She was en route from Penarth to Boulogne with a cargo of coal.

Polesley was a 4,510 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1905 by Chas. Connell & Co. Ltd. for SS Den of Ogil Co Ltd. as Den of Crombie. From 1918 she was owned by Farrar, Groves & Co. Ltd. and renamed Polesley. She was sunk on 22 September 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-88 at position 50° 13 N, 04° 46' W - approximately 1 nautical miles North of the Pendeen Lighthouse. She was en route from Cardiff to France with a cargo of coal.

Poljames was a 833 GRT compound-engined cargo ship completed in 1872 by Earle Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. Ltd. for Fornyade Angfartygs A/B Gota as James J. Dickson. From 1917 she was in the hands of the British Government, renamed Poljames and managed by City of Cork Steam Packet Co. She was sunk on 2 October 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-112 approximately 6 nautical miles South of The Lizard. She was en route from Newport, Mon, to an unknown destination with an Admiralty cargo.

Polleon was a 1,155 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1915 by Wilton’s Eng. & Slipway Co. of Rotterdam for NV Stoomvaart Mij Leonora as Leonora. From 1917 she was in the hands of the British Government, renamed Polleon and managed by Everett & Newbigin. She was sunk on 22 March 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-78 approximately 3 nautical miles East-North-East of the mouth of the River Tyne. She was en route from Blyth to the Tyne with a cargo of coal.

Polo was a 1,906 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1913 by Earle's Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. Ltd. for T.Wilson, Sons & Co. Ltd. From 1917 she was owned by Ellerman's Wilson Line, Ltd. She was sunk on 12 February 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-57 approximately 8 nautical miles South-East by East of St. Catherine's Point. She was en route from Hull to Alexandria carrying coal and a general cargo.

Polperro was a 3,365 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1898 by C. S. Swan & Hunter Ltd. for Rankin Gilmour as Saint Quentin. From 1915 she was in the hands of the Royal Navy, renamed Polperro and managed by Fisher, Alimonda & Co. She was damaged on 19 July 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-54 at position 37° 30' N, 11° 03' E - in the Strait of Sicily. Ltd. and renamed Polymnia. She was sunk on 15 May 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-75 at position 49° 54' N, 05° 34' W - approximately 15 nautical miles West of The Lizard. She was en route from Huelva and Lisbon to the UK with a cargo of iron ore and fruit.
