She was sunk on 25 June 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-17 at position 48° 24' N, 07° 47' W. She was en route from Bombay to London with a cargo of wheat.

Ltd. and managed by T. & J. Harrison. She was torpedoed on 17 May 1918 by German submarine U-39 approximately 60 nautical miles North-West by West of Oran.

The vessel was beached at Mers-el-Kebir and some of the cargo salvaged. Recovery had to cease when there was a large explosion in the fore part of the ship. She was en route from Swansea to Salonica with military stores.
