She sank on 29 August 1915 after striking a mine laid by German submarine UC-6 off Cockle Light Vessel - sinking in Yarmouth Roads. She was en route from Tyne to Londo with a general cargo.

Sixty-Six was a 214 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1871 by Backhouse & Dixon for Cochrane & Co. Ltd. and managed by J. W. Lister. She was sunk on 29 June 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-88 approximately 3 nautical miles East of Scarborough. She was en route from London to Middlesbrough with a cargo of cement.

Sjaelland was a 1,210 GRT compound-engined cargo ship completed in 1872 by Norddeutsche Schiffbau A.G. of Kiel for Asia Steamship Co. From 1917 she was owned by R. S. Dalgliesh. She was stopped by German submarine UC-66 approximately 18 nautical miles East by North of Start Point and sunk by gunfire. She was en route from Le Havre to Swansea in ballast.

Skerries was a 4,328 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1906 by Russell & Co. for Clyde Shipping Co. Ltd. She sank on 4 November 1916 after striking a mine laid by German submarine U-80 approximately 15 nautical miles North-North-West of The Skerries, Anglesea. She was en route from Barrow to Barry in ballast.

Snowdon was a 3,189 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1896 by Richardson, Duck & Co. for W.Johnston & Co. as Barnesmore. From 1904 she was owned by Snowdon Steamship Co. Ltd. and managed by C. She was en route from Philadelphia to Liverpool carrying explosives and a general cargo.

Sofie was a 354 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1907 by Wood, Skinner & Co. Ltd. for Stephenson Clarke & Co. She was sunk on 2 February 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-XX in the Bristol Channel. She was en route from Jersey to Cardiff in ballast.

Solway Queen was a 307 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1883 by R. Smith for Burnyeat Dalzell. At the time of her loss she was owned by Kynoch-Arklow, Ltd. She was sunk on 2 April 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-101 - approximately 7 nautical miles off Black Head, near Portpatrick, Wigtown. She was en route from Ayr to Newry with a cargo of coal.

Somme was a 1,828 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1916 by S. P. Austin & Son Ltd. for Normandy Shipping Co. Ltd. and managed by Stephenson Clarke & Co. She was sunk on 30 March 191 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-40 at position 49° 48' N, 00° 41' W - approximately 20 nautical miles East by North of Cape Barfleur. She was en route from Newport to Rouen with a cargo of coal.
