Sonnie was a 2,642 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1917 by Osbourne, Graham & Co. Ltd. for Harries Bros. & Co. She was sunk on 11 August 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-77 at position 48° 34' N, 04° 55' W - approximately 5 nautical miles North-West of Le Four Lighthouse, Ushant. She was en route from Bilbao to Middlesbrough with a cargo of iron ore.

Southborough was a 3,709 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1910 by Sunderland Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. for The Hazelwood Shipping Co. Ltd. and managed by Humphries (Cardiff), Ltd. She was sunk on 16 July 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-110 approximately 5 nautical miles North by East of Scarborough. She was struck on the starboard side of the forward bunker and sank almmost immediately. She was en route from La Goulette to the Tees with a cargo of iron ore.

She was en route from the Tyne to Boulogne with a cargo of coke.

She was sunk on 7 July 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine UC-67 at position 36° 52' N, 04° 56' E - approximately 6 nautical miles West-North-West of Cape Sigli, Algeria. She was en route from Cardiff and Oran to an unknown destination with a cargo of coal and government stores.

Southland
Southland was a 11,899 GRT steam passenger ship completed in 1900 by John Brown & Co. Ltd., Clydebank for International Navigation Co. Ltd. She had been attacked on two occasions:
- 2 September 1915: She was seriously damaged in an attack by German submarine UB-14 off Strati Island. She was en route from Alexandria to Mudros. Ten seamen lost their lives in this attack.
- 4 June 1917: She was sunk by torpedo fired by German submarine U-70 at position 56° 10' N, 12° 14' W - approximately 140 nautical miles North-West by West of Tory Island. She was en route from Liverpool to Philadelphia with a general cargo. Four seamen lost their lives in this attack

Southward
Southward was a 225 GRT steam trawler completed in 1907 by Cochrane & Sons for Forward Steam Fishing Co. Ltd. From 1919 she was owned by Fishery Reserve and registered at Grimsby as GY.288. She was posted missing on 1 March 1919 whilst returning from a fishing trip to the Faeroes and is presumed to have sunk after striking a mine.

She was reported missing on 27 May 1915 and is believed to have been lost approximately 88 nautical miles East by North of Spurn Head as a result of (unspecified) enemy action.

Sowwell
Sowwell was a 3,771 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1900 by W. Gray & Co., Ltd. for Mitre Steamship Co. Ltd. as Kenley. At the time of her loss she was owned by Sowwell Steamship Co. Ltd. and managed by Galbraith, Pembroke & Co. She was sunk on 19 April 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-35 approximately 170 nautical miles West by South of Gibraltar. She was en route from Sagunto to Glasgow with a cargo of iron ore.
