Umgeni was a 2,662 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1898 by Laing James & Sons Ltd. for Bullard, King & Co. She departed the Clyde on 7 November 1917 bound for Liverpool and Lagos but was last contacted on 9 November and not seen again. She is understood to have foundered in a gale somewhere to the West of Ireland.

Umta was a 5,366 GRT steam passenger/cargo ship completed in 1898 by A. Stephen & Sons for British India Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. She was damaged on 13 March 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-49 at position 40° 36' N, 13° 09' E - in the Tyrranean Sea. She was towed to port and repaired and continued in service until broken up in 1935. She was en route from Genoa and Naples to Alexandria.

She was sunk on 2 May 1918 by torpedo fired by German submarine UB-57 approximately 9 nautical miles South-East of Folkestone. She ws en route from Newhaven to Calais with a cargo of ordinance.

Jones. She was sunk on 12 September 1917 by torpedo fired by German submarine U-64 at position 37° 52' N, 00° 28' W - approximately 10 nautical miles North by East of Cabo de Palos, Murcia. She was en route from Cardiff to Genoa with a cargo of coal.

Uvularia

Uvularia was a 207 GRT steam trawler completed in 1900 by Schofield, Hagerup & Coughty Ltd. for North Eastern Steam Fishing Co. Ltd. and registered at Grimsby as GY.1190. At the time of her loss she was owned by Thomas W. Baskcomb. She sank on 13 May 1920 after an explosion believed to have been caused by her picking up a mine in her trawl.

She was en route from Rouen to Liverpool.
