History

The correct name for the company was the India Steamship Company Ltd.

There is very little information available about this company online, but it appears to have been incorporated at Calcutta in 1928 and ran express cargo services on the India to UK, India to South America, India to Poland and India to USSR Routes. The Company also ran services on the Indian Coast.

In 1989 the company amalgamated with the Ratnakar Shipping Company Ltd. According to Bloomberg, the India Steamship Co Ltd was still in existence in 2018 both owning and operating ships. Based in Kolkata India, it engages in the transportation of personal baggage and liquid cargo, primarily crude oil and other petroleum products worldwide.
