Pacific International Line

History

The correct name for this company is Pacific International Lines Limited and it is a Singapore company.

It was founded in 1967 by Chang Yun Chung (YC Chang) who had previously been a shipping manager for more than 18 years. Since then PIL grew from being a small regional shipping company based in Singapore to an international shipping company with an annual turnover of S$2 billion in 2004, owning and operating over 90 vessels. PIL was ranked the 20th leading container shipping company in the world in 2005.

Most, if not all, of the ships represented in this collection were acquired by PIL from other companies early in its history.
