Harmattan was a 4,791 GRT steam cargo ship completed in 1911 by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd. for J.& C.Harrison Ltd. She sank on 5 May 1917 after striking a mine laid by German submarine UC-37 approximately 30 nautical miles off Cape Bon or 7 nautical miles North of Cape Rosa, Algeria. She was en route from Avonmouth to an unknown destination with a cargo of government stores.
